Will soon be selling advertising on BloggingTips
I spoke in June about the importance of having keywords in your domain name. Google has certainly been updating a lot of it’s search results lately and I have seen BloggingTips.com jump higher in the SERP’s for several keywords, most notably the search term I spoke about in my previous article ie. the term ‘Blogging Tips’.
There are still some search engines which I am not top of the results for this search term and a top position is in no way guaranteed however this is a term I should always be near the top of the search results for because the search term is also the domain name of this blog. It just goes to show how valuable a keyword rich domain name can be in securing a top position for your niche (I spoke about this in my previous article).
Advertising on BloggingTips
Whilst I’m not a Pagerank maniac, I have been frustrated the last week or so at the lack of an update this month. The 3 month update was suspected to go live at the end of July or early August but as we creep into September there is still no sign of it. The reason I am frustrated is because it is holding me back selling advertising on BloggingTips. Traffic has been increasing very steadily the last month but unfortunately, Pagerank remains one of the most important factors to a lot of advertisers so I am reluctant to launch an advertising page with set prices only to increase the prices a week or so later. Unfortunately, I will not be able to implement the changes I want on this blog until the site starts making money so please hurry up Google! haha!
I have been thinking a lot about the possible advertising areas at BloggingTips. As well as some banner spots I will be selling ten text links areas directly in areas which get a lot of exposure. It’s difficult for me to talk about the price of these advertising areas just now because as I said, I’m not able to see the market price for these ads until the blog gets a Pagerank. When it does update, I will publish the advertising info for potential sponsors however any feedback or suggestions in the meantime would be greatly appreciated

The top of your page is taking a lot of space for just the red banner. You can put an ad banner here which matches with this current red thing.

Im not keen on adding an ad in this area or a banner underneath as it will push the content down more
Kevin, good that you have planned to put advertisements. I would suggest you to place it under the subscribe options and above the blog’s authors.
That means there’s going to be lot of activity here!

agree with sentiments on page rank – useless for determining SERPS and quality of a blog, but very important for advertising. I’m sure google could update PR more frequently if they had a mind to.
Google’s really testing my patience…
