Yeah i think you have brought up an interesting point here. Although im fairly new to blogging, i read an average of 15 blogs per day, and guest post on 5 per day. So i read 3 times as many blogs as i actually post on.

As you mentioned, if you want to reach your goal of being a well-known blogger, or to even make a bit of money from blogging, its vitally important to be an active part of the blogging community.

I certainly agree with both sides, but I have to say that in my opinion writing and then getting critique is more important. Blogging like anything takes practice. I actually just recently began a series of articles of which the first is on this very subject.

Matt Jones is absolutely right. The only way to improve your writing skills is by writing. It’s like anything else, use it or… it gets really rusty.

On the other hand reading “great blogs” will certainly help you in effective ways of presenting what you write.

It’s true reading well written content improves your writing, but getting down to businness and actually writing a blog yourself helps even more.
