For your blog to succeed, you need to post on a regular basis. You may find that this is easy to do for the first couple of weeks, but as the days go by, things can change.
By scheduling your blog posts you will be in a much better position to increase traffic, or any other goals that you have made for yourself. Remember, readers come to your site because they are interested in updated content. Once they notice that you are letting your blog slide, it is safe to say that you will be marked off the “to read list.”
No matter when you want to write your blog posts, make sure you stick to a schedule. Some bloggers prefer to post once or more per day, whereas others would rather do so on a less frequent basis. Obviously, the more content you have the better. But if you can only find time for sporadic posts, you should still stick to a schedule. This will not only help you, but it will also allow readers to visit your site when they know that they will find fresh updates.
If you are having a hard time keeping up with things, you may want to expand your network of writers. This will allow you to keep your content fresh without having to actually write yourself. But even then, make sure that guest bloggers are aware of your schedule.
Remember this: a schedule equals success in the blogging world!

Good tips. I keep planning on trying out the schedule option, but end up thinking, heck, I’ll just post it now!

Good post. Sporadic posting isn’t good for a blog. It’s better to drop your posting rate if you cant stick to your current one

Great advice, Chris. I’ve had trouble with my posting schedule before but lately I’ve been trying to kick it up a notch and stay on top of things. And I agree with you 100%, if you post everyday and then go down to once every four days or once a week, your readers will notice and might stop reading your blog if it’s going downhill.

if i have time, i usually prepare 2-3 posts and separate them for one day one post. and most of my readers come from US and Europe, so i would also need to choose a suitable time for the most exposure.

Nice heads-up article. I usually “force” myself one night a week to prepare up to 10 articles scheduled to publish one a day. Stopped doing this in june, publishing one article a week that month. I saw traffic dropping by almost 50%

I also find that if you are using wordpress it is best to use the post date function, so that posts are actually published and off your mind, they just don’t display until the post date you set. That way if you can’t make it to your PC your blog still gets it’s post when planned.
