Doing a link exchange with blogs similar to yours is a great way to build backlinks and give your blog a good shot at increasing its PageRank but the problem with a link exchange is it takes a lot of work for what really is a small result.
So I was glad to come across a perfect plugin for bloggers serious about SEO, WP-Backlinks. This plugin turns a small area of your sidebar into a powerful link exchange application. And because its a Wordpress plugin, installation takes just seconds.
Once installed, WP-Backlinks puts a form on your sidebar (through a Widget) that webmasters and other bloggers can use to quickly submit a link to be included on your site. The plugin will go off and spider the webmasters site for a reciprocal link and if everything is successful you will have made a successful link exchange.
WP-Backlinks won’t display the same links on every page across your blog. Instead for each page, it displays different links. So, if you have 1000 articles or posts and you have 5 links on each page - thats 5000 backlinks! As you can see this is a really easy way to increase the number of backlinks to your blog. It also provides a valuable resource for your readers as many of them would enjoy having a link on your blog.
I have been testing out the plugin on one of my blogs and have found it to be working well. Occasionally it can slow down the site, but im holding out for a new release which promises a more optimized plugin.
With a PR update coming up, this could be the plugin for you!

Have you had much success with it Anthony? It certainly makes link exchanges much easier although I’d be concerned about the relevance of some of the links. I assume you have full control to delete those links you don’t think are suitable?

Holy crap.
That’s an awesome plugin.
I will definitely put that one up on my blog.
How soon until the optimized plugin is available?

Kevin: I don’t know if I would delete any links because of the relevancy or lack thereof the link has to my blog. I’ve been having a hard time finding pages that are related to People You’ll See In Hell.
Truecrime blogs? Eh. Maybe.

JD - I think you would do well to exchange links with entertainment type blogs - joke sites, movie sites, lighthearted humour etc

Wow, that’s really good plugin. If the pluging do not make different in every pages, it can make duplicate content as well. because SE will look these link similar in every pages.

Hi guys,
Is this plug-in safe? It doesn’t show up on wordpress.org plug-ins site.
Anyone went over the code to check it doesn’t do anything bad?
Regards,
Nick
