At the very top of the list is the ‘Top 10 mistakes new bloggers make‘ post with 135 incoming links. Since the June 2007 competition post cannot be considered a regular blogging post the difference between the top 10…

All of us would agree that the total number of comments on a blog is made up of less than 20-30% of the total number of visitors on the entire blog.
Even the blog which receives the most number of comments(Problogger ,SEOMoz or any other blog), is able to convert only it’s 25% of total traffic into active comenters.
The total unique hits to total number of comments from unique ips is the proof for this.

I would also be interested in reading a post about how you plan/or don’t plan your blog long term(like a business plan) - eg. Within 2 months I plan to have x visitors, X articles, marketing plan - initial and long term (I realise that you won’t want to give all your secrets away but a generic outline). I checked out the post at the time but I forgot to include it in this weeks links roundup. I’m not 100% sure but I suspect Gaman emailed me pretty soon after he published the post as there were no comments at the time (there’s currently 26).
