"Clearly two authors giving conflicting advice is bad for a blog."

I like to see opposing points of view.. Advice is just that - take it or leave it. I prefer to hear more opinions.

I definitely differ in views from a lot of my readers, though not all. As long as you respect each others opinions though, I can't see a problem :)

Guest blogging or multi author blogs can work as long as there is some sort of editor. It's exactly like a print magazine or newspaper.

I do however prefer single author blogs. A blog should be a personal thing and many authors can confuse readers.

Kev,

I think we should strike a balance with both opinions.

Authors can have contradicting opinions, but they should be constructive. It should help build the blogs readership - if that is not fulfilled, there's no meaning in the whole thing.

When i write articles, my primary focus is to generate reader participation - for which, I'll stretch to ends. A different author will have a different opinion on this.

Being a muti author blog is a good thing however - you can have opinions from all sides - the readers however, is to decide between what's good and not, be it on the same blog or not.

And a good way to bridge gaps is to communicate. May be in a post, an author can talk about the earlier post and describe the article from a different angle - rather than bluntly contradicting.

Being transparent helps - be it between authors or between writers and readers.

Hope this helped.

Cheers!
