I’ve been promising some more pics for a while but unfortunately, most of the pics of the trip are on my friend’s laptop. However, I’ve managed to find a few for you guys. Enjoy
* Tara from Graphic Design Blog tagged me a few weeks ago in this post to post some pics. Sorry for the delay Tara
Doing the Tongariro Crossing, New Zealand
We did a full days hike up up Mount Tongariro AKA Mount Doom from Lord of the Rings. It took us about 6-7 hours to complete. Quite tiring near the start but after that it was great fun. We were lucky with the weather so overall it was a great day out.
Glacier walk at Franz Josef, New Zealand
Thankfull I decided to do the half day hike. Some of my friends left early in the morning to do the full day hike but it rained the whole morning!
Me and my friends in Queenstown, New Zealand
Tokyo, Japan
I’ve been to many places but Japan is easily the best country I have ever been to. I’m going to do my best to go back over there in the next year, I absolutely love the place! (if your curious, New York is a close second)
Kyoto, Japan
It took us 2 hours 40 minutes to get to Kyoto from Tokyo in the bullet train. When we got there we found out that the hostel we had planned to stay at was fully booked. We phoned around a few other hostels and eventually found one but it was 10 blocks or so away. After 25 minutes of walking in the rain with the strangest scaled map I’ve ever seen, I stopped a local Japanese man and asked if he could point us in the right direction. With me knowing next to no Japanese and him knowing no English, he was still able to point us in the right direction.
The guy walked with us for 45 minutes and asked several other Japanese people along the way until he got us to the door of the hostel (We wouldn’t have found it in a million years!). I asked if there was anything we could do for him but he just raised his hat and said we were welcome and walked away. We couldn’t believe it! This man walked the complete opposite way he was going for 45 minutes to make sure some strangers found where they were going. It still astounds me how helpful the Japanese were our whole time there
Hiroshima, Japan
The war museum at Hiroshima was really good and gave a very balanced view of World War II and the events that led up to the first atomic bomb being dropped.
Berlin, Germany
Berlin was a cool city. We were there for 6 days. The first 3 days me and my friend Michael stayed in East Berlin. On the friday I met up with 9 of my friends who had flown over for the weekend (cheap flights through Easyjet). Most of them still thought I was in New Zealand so it was a nice surprise!
What can be funnier than a guy in a bear costume!
Hope you all enjoyed the pics

Some fantastic photos there, Kevin.
The story about the Japanese man was excellent. Whoever he was, I’ll tip my hat to him!

)
I’ve never gone to foreign country.
(except, once illegally, my dad drove to Malaysia to fill fuel because it’s much cheaper there, and we must rush back to Thailand

Hi Kevin
Thanks for posting some pics :). New Zealand looks an amazing place and I can’t believe how helpful that guy in Japan was!
Are you home from your trip now or still travelling?

Paul - We were supposed to spend 2 days in Hiroshima but we couldn’t find a good hostel. So we decided to leave our bags in the hostel in Kyoto and just take the train down there.
We had the Japan rail pass so it just took us 2 hours on the Shinkansen in the morning. I thought Hiroshima was a really nice city.
Where abouts in Thailand are you from Nice (I’ve spent close to 6 months there in total!). I may actually go back to thailand for a month or so if I can find an apartment with good internet access.
Tara - New Zealand is a beautiful country and the people. We had a blast there. I think thats me back home. To be honest I’d love to travel again but its difficult to run my sites and still travel. Sometimes it was ok but other times it was a nightmare trying to juggle travelling and working in internet cafes etc
glad you all liked the pics

Those are some amazing pictures! I hope to able to travel like that some day.
I enjoyed reading about the Japanese man. It’s people like that that make the world a better place.
