Kevin MuldoonAdSense Sharing Revenue and Earnings System for Wordpress

Written by Kevin Muldoon from System0 on July 5, 2007

I found out about the Adsense sharing plugin for wordpress about a month ago but I haven’t got round to posting about it until today. Basically, the plugin allows you to give a % of google adsense earnings of author’s articles to the author. You can set this right up to 100% if you want.

I installed it at the time but i didn’t test it out. Upon checking the website for documentation today i realised that the site was down. Thankfully a friend of Harley Quine continued the work and released their own version.

Just click on the links below to find out more about the plugin.

My view on the plugin

The idea of this plugin is great and I’m sure it will help bloggers attract guest authors for their blog. However, unless your guest authoring on a large blog like Pro Blogger or ShoeMoney I really do not think the guest poster will earn anything over a few dollars. I would be more inclined to ask for a return link or even payment for guest authoring.

Also, if you choose to use this plugin make sure that guest authors are aware that you can not guaranteethe plugin will be on your site in the future. This is not an official plugin and therefore there is a chance that if you upgrade in the future the plugin will not work and you will be left with some pissed off bloggers

Give it a try and see what you think. You might see an increase in the number of people who want to post on your blog so It’s probably worth trying it out.

Good luck :)

Kevin

An excellent find, Kevin. I’ve been looking for this ;-). Some time back I came across an AdSense plug-in that paid the plug-in author a percentage of the site owner’s revenue as a”useage fee” for the plug-in.

My thought on using this product you mentioned, though, is to help some beginers who want a little “hand holding” from me. I don’t mind helping someone set up a blog, but, like most people, I only have so many hours in a day. With this product you can kill two birds (is that still a PC term? loL) You can get paid for your time if the “learners” ever do cross the bridge to profitability, and you can validate (and work to improve) your own abilities … there is no better way to improve at something than keeping score, and there is no better score to keep than _money_. Thanks.

I am a part of a similar thing. I have links on my site to another site.. If someone from my blog goes to the other site and THEN clicks on an adsense add, I get 100% of the money. I’m not sure what they are using to get this to occur, but it’s a great method to get people to link to the website! And of course I’ve made a total of 0. ;)

    Hey Kevin,

I think you’re right … probably not a lot of cash to be made by most guest authors on this.

Of course, it is a great idea. And for someone doing a lot of guest authoring on a site, and particularly for someone good at writing great SEO’d content that gets decent traffic over the long haul, it’s probably not a bad earner at all.

    Kevin,

I saw that you were part of the Do Follow list, so I thought I would add you to my list of blogs that employ the Top Commentator plugin

    http://www.savvyaffiliate.com/Blog/traffic/top-commentator-list/

Let me know if you want off the list or if you have another blog you would like me to Add

    Thanks
    Scott

Scott - I do have the top commentator list and that is set to do follow but I haven’t made a point of joining any list. I’m not a fan of things like that if im honest :)

I think this is the same concept for the site myitthings.com. A site with a LOT of ‘guest authors’ would probably garner more worth from this. But hey, maybe it can buy a cup of coffee from Starbucks. In the future, we’re all gonna have to be like Shoemoney in order to afford one!!
