The best time to publish your post is something a lot of bloggers don’t spend too much thinking about however it can be a factor of a blogs success. Not a huge factor in my opinion however it certainly does make a difference.
Take tech sites like Engadget and Gizomodo for example. They tend to post a few posts in the morning and then a few more before lunchtime, with some more posted later in the day. It should be pretty clear why they do this. It’s because their target audience is students and those who work from 9 to 5 (ie. Office/IT workers) so it makes sense to get posts online during their peak traffic hours.
I don’t believe that this is something you need to be worrying about too much if your blog is still fairly new however it’s something established bloggers should look into.
There are a few things you need to consider when deciding when to post however the 2 main factors are :
As i said at the start of this post, i do not believe the time you publish your posts to be of great importance if your blog is still fairly new however more established bloggers may want to think about this and keep it in mind when posting in the future.

I think an important key is to create a rhythm with your post times. As a blog reader I like to know if I check a certain blog at a specific time there will be a new post waiting on most days. Obviously, there can be some change but in general I think a post frequency rhythm adds to the experience.
To me the most important times to post is sometime in the morning to early afternoon. That’s usually the time that most people go check back on sites they know.
Sly, which time are you working from, GMT? I’ve been posting at 07.30 GMT for the past week. Then after i have done that for a fortnight I’m going to post at 19.30 each day for 2 weeks to see if there is any difference.
