Kevin MuldoonTechnorati’s new look sucks big time!

Written by Kevin Muldoon from System0 on June 24, 2007

I’ve not logged into the home page of Technorati but when i did get a chance today i was a bit dissapointed. Technorati have changed the look of the site and in my opinion it really does suck balls. They’ve got the latest blogs scrolling along the top of the page (which is very late 90’s in my opinion) and the main area of the home page looks like a complete rip off of YouTube.

Technorati

Am i the only one who hates this new design?

Kind of gross. I’m sure they will change it soon. They are always changing.

I think you’re being a tad harsh Kevin, it isn’t that bad.

P.S. We’re not your drinking buddies, so more refined language would be appreciated.

it was a light hearted post - i dont believe ’suck balls’ to be offensive in any way. Perhaps i should have added a smilie :) Sometimes i will be ‘more refined’ as you put it but sometimes i will not - regardless, i dont wanna feel too restricted in what i write. Im not saying i wanna swear here or be offensive but i dont want to have to watch what i say in that regard either :)

I didn’t mean what I said to sound the way it maybe did Kevin. I mean, this is your ‘home’, so you set the rules. However, I felt I should share what I thought.

Every post shapes our reputation, even if they are light hearted.

no problem at all bud. I appreciate feedback - i didnt take it badly in any way :) I just wanted to clarify that from time to time i will be less refined when talking about lighthearted issues and certain topics etc. I know that this is probably not a good thing but i enjoy blogging and if i self edited myself too much i’m sure i’d get frustrated :):)

Green and orange just don’t go - the remark about being ’so late 90’s’ made me laugh so much. I think the post was fine, it obviously wasn’t meant as an article more of an informal post asking readers their opinions and the readers are here because they like what you write Kevin.

i actually remember using the scroll tag on one of my sites 7 years ago. The tag didnt work on all browsers but boy it did look snazzy! ;)

I agree with you. I liked Technorati best how it used to be before all the authority, page, and layout changes, etc. A few months back it was great.

My first website has the scrolly thing… It was a buffy fan site and I had a stake scrolling across the screen. This was about seven years ago as well. lol

I agree with Tay, I liked Technorati best a couple of months ago.
