agreed – the review was fair. I think when you order a reviewme type review you should expect criticism. Infact you should want to see criticism – it shouldnt just be about traffic.

I think it all comes down to personal integrity. Just because you have taken money for the review, you should still report your opinions honestly.

John did just that – I think it's the most credible thing he has done for a long while.

I was surprised when I read John's negative review as I'd never seen him be scathing in a review before, a little negative yes, but scathing no.

It was a good review though, good as in fair. As I've been watching the comments it's pretty clear Michael saw John was popular and ordered a review thinking it was just another way to make a buck. His bad luck that the site was actually "reviewed" not PR'd.

Makes me keep wanting to go back.

That's just hilarious! Anyway, about your question. From the point where I am standing now, yes, I would review a site I didn't like. Money is money. Of course, I would never give a really negative review. I would list the bad points, but I would also find good points and list those as well. I would be completely honest. I mean, it is a review. It shouldn't be biased. It should contain pros and cons and views from both sides. ~Tay from Super Blogging

I wouldn't hesitate to accept and write a paid review on a site/service that I disliked. In fact, I would jump at the opportunity. Why? Well, it would really prove to your readers that you speak the truth, even when money is on the line.

Could it cost you future review opportunities? Sure, and that's unfortunate. But it would cement your credibility with your readers, and I think that may be more valuable long term.

It depends on what you mean by "you don't like". If it's about a subject that I don't enjoy but the website is good for those interested I would write a review.

If the website is bad, it doesn't matter if I enjoy the subject or not, I wouldn't write about it. I can't take someones money just because they didn't have enough brains to make a solid website before going on a spending spree with reviews.

Then again, if it's a scam and not just a badly designed/poor information website, then I might take the money just to teach him a lesson in my review.

From experience, writing a negative review is a lot more difficult than a positive one. You have to keep in mind that they're paying for it so every negative point has to be backed up and constructed fairly. But when it has to be done, it has to be done…in the end, you're presenting nothing more than the truth

Oh man, I can't stand those kind of sites — the type that goes on and on forever on one page. I can smell "scam" five links before I get to them. I'd swear they're made by the same person.
