Wordpress 2.2 is released
Just a quick post to let all wordpress blog owners know that Wordpress 2.2 has been released. You can download the new release here.
Since im still on the road i wont be able to upgrade for a few weeks however this might not be too bad a thing. The evil genius John Chow has had a chance to upgrade though and posted about the release two days ago. Unfortunately, John ran into a few minor problems with his sidebar widgets so it might be worthwhile holding off upgrading for a week or so to let all bugs get ironed out.
If you decide to upgrade just now, i’d strongly recommend setting up a test area for your blog first and upgrading the test blog first to make sure everything goes smoothly. Regardless, make sure you back up all your files and your blog database.

I just made the upgrade last night and so far, so good! I was actually surprised that I didn’t mess anything up!

nice one sue. i checked your blog earlier cos you appeared through mybloglog and it was a bit messed up but an hour or so later it was fine…it must have been when you were upgrading it

yeah, i was doing the upgrade and i thought it was done so i refreshed and i thought that maybe i did something wrong! but it ended up to be that everything was still uploading. i was just being impatient.
