So….what do you think of the new mascot? Really….i am that muscly and amazing in real life ….oh well, maybe not, i can but dream!
The blog is finally coming together. I’ve Secured my identity, finally starting to get design the way i want it and the sites traffic is really picking up. All i need to do now is get a good skin for the forums but theres no real rush as they’re still quiet.
Small Potato reminded my yesterday how much i hate the sidebars i’ve got here. I have been messing around with the css code to try and come up with something more pleasing on the eye but it hasn’t happened as yet. Every other blog on the web waits until their theme is ready before they launch it…nope, not me - I do it bit by bit like a right mentalist! Anyways, if you see the sidebar or any other part of of the theme changing in the next few months don’t be alarmed
So who designed it…no its a secret!
In the past i have not always told readers who has done the logo or banners for sites i have run. It’s not anything against the designer, ive just had rival websites copy large aspects of my site. No site is unique and i dont claim to be anything of the sort but sometimes it’s important to try and keep some things out of the publics eye for the good of your business.
I just couldn’t keep the guys who did the mascot for me a secret. The design was done by a company called SOS Factory. I had contacted them about it a few months ago before the site was launched and i was planning ahead. It was around this time i also made first contact about purchasing the .com of the domain (previously the site used .org).

Blogging Tips Mascot by SOS Factory
I do like to give credit where credit is due and the support and service from SOS Factory over the last week has been nothing short of perfection. Since im currently in New Zealand and the main designer i had contact with is based in Spain, i stayed up late a few nights to go through exactly what i wanted from the mascot and the domain.
The main problem i have with graphics is the idea of what to do. I said to them that i wanted a cartoony version of myself and in a superhero type mould. Who would have known it would have been the start of ‘Super Kevin’….ok thats really cheesy, ill try and tone the cheesiness down!!
As i said before. I just couldn’t keep these guys from the blogosphere. I really hope some bloggers out there use these guys as it can really make your blog stand out from the crowd. If you do use them please email me and show me what they have done for you, im sure other bloggers would be keen on seeing it.
To mark the addition of the mascot to BloggingTips, i am very proud to announce a competition to win a mascot design from SOS Factory. A mascot design such as this is worth $300.
The competition will be posted shortly after this so good luck to everyone who enters.
thanks,

Nice one Kevin, really nice! Header could do with a bit of alignment though. Lining up with the outside of the sidebars, make the left side of the ‘B’ and Kevin the same distance. Your tagline should probably be aligned with the ‘B’ also.
Just my thoughts

I like the new header, and the super-hero. I can definitely see the resemblance. Although you never told us you wear your underpants on the outside!
