The last thing most bloggers want to worry about is Search Engine Optimisation. Not all bloggers are directly involved in web development and quite a lot have no intention of doing so. However, im sure all bloggers want more traffic to their site as more traffic means more readers. More traffic also means more revenue (well it should!).

In this post i hope i can show that you don’t need to be a SEO specialist to get traffic from the major search engines.
Original is Best
The major search engines use different algorithms to determine what order pages are listed when a search term is input. However, they are all striving towards providing the ’perfect’ search facility for their visitors. To do this they want the top results to be relevant.
We alll use the internet so much nowadays we sometimes forget one of the the main ways we find information on the web. Internet users link to websites and articles they like. If i find a good wordpress theme on another site i will post a link to it here because i think my visitors would benefit from it, if i come across a new flash game which is fun ill maybe post it at one of the forums i frequent to share it with everyone and if i come
across a great article on my favourite team ill email my friends about it.
Now you may be reading this and be thinking that im stating the obvious here and you would be right! However, this simple linking system is one which search engines rely upon greatly. Good websites get more links and references than bad ones, good articles get linked more than bad ones…
i found this article on the bcc website today. Its rare to find a SEO related article on a major news site. The article is called ‘Cheating’ the search engines - it basically just talks about link bombing. Link bombing is quite an old topic so i dont think theres any specific reason why they decided to cover it today.
Ive repeated the article below or if you prefer, check out the original article here.
We have come to expect a lot from search engines.
Type in a phrase, and we not only…
I found this great little article about increasing blog traffic and i thought id share it. It was written by randfish on SEOmoz.
I don’t agree with everything he says though. He says that you shouldn’t open up comments until you have upwards of 100 RSS subscribers and/or 750 unique visitors per day. I suspect he believes that a blog post which isnt open to comments looks better to one that is but doesn’t have any. I prefer to keep them open - you never know, you might get the odd…
i thought id post some of the good themes which have been released through wordpress recently.

Page Rank Checkers
As im sure most of you already know,
you can download the google toolbar for internet explorer or firefox to check the page rank of any page you are browsing. It’s also possible to check the PR of a site online.
Some Page Rank Checker Sites

These scripts will guess your page rank on the next update however remember they are not 100% accurate and are merely estimation tools. Note that most of these…
