The first few months of starting your blog can be hard. You’ve yet to be indexed by the search engines, youve got 0 comments on your posts and your traffic is really low. This can be both frustrating and discouraging.
The quick answer to the question ‘Are you talking to yourself?’ in the above title would be a resounding YES! There is a very good chance that your talking to yourself and the only person who reads your blog is the same person you see every morning in the mirror and perhaps a friendly little spider called googlebot.
Don’t let this discourage you though. This is something that all new bloggers have to deal with. Only those who already run established blogs/sites or write for a popular blog will have a good readership at the start of a blogs life. For the rest of us, blogging is a slow but rewarding journey towards making your mark in the blogosphere.
Think of it as a journal
One of the best tips i can give to new bloggers is to think of their blog as a journal at the start. An online diary related to your chosen subject (if you have any).
This should help you at the start of your blogs life. If you keep thinking that your the only one ever going to read your post you will either stop blogging or start going mad. Keep your chin up and continue to keep posting good posts and your blog will start to do better.
- Spend time commentating on related blogs and forums
- Research your topic and cover things that others haven’t.
- Make yourself stand out from the crowd and voice your opinion
Good Luck & Happy Blogging
