Get Recent Comments

The Get Recent Comments Wordpress Plugin is one of the most useful plugins ive used for wordpress. Ive got a feeling a lot of its features will become standard in Wordpress in the future.

The get recent comments allows you to show the latest comments and trackbacks.

If you look down the right hand column here you will see i have the latest trackbacks and comments listed seperately. This was achieved using the Get Recent Comments plugin. It gives you a huge amount of options in which you can control the way comments and trackbacks are displayed.

You can control when the text is cut off, how many listings you want displayed and you can even add the commentators gravatar picture and url. However, my favourite feature is the abilty to remove your own website from trackbacks so that only links to your posts from external sites will be displayed. You can do the same with comments too so that author comments aren’t displayed.
